Physical Therapy

Whether you are experiencing acute joint or muscular pain, a chronic condition, or rehabbing post-operatively, we will develop a comprehensive plan to help you meet your goals.

Some of the many conditions we treat:

  • generalized pain (neck, back, shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, hip, knee, ankle/foot)

  • radicular pain, weakness, numbness/tingling (symptoms that spread into the arm or leg from either the neck or back)

  • balance or vestibular issues (vertigo, fall risk, general dizziness)

  • youth sport injuries, aches/pains

  • post operative care (rotator cuff repair, labral repair, ORIF, joint replacement, laminectomy, ACL reconstruction, menisectomy, etc)

  • pediatric issues (torticollis, core strengthening, low tone, idiopathic toe walking, etc)

Wellness

Are you active and hoping to get the most out of your workouts? Are you hoping to prevent injuries before they present? A wellness screen can help identify potential problems before you are in pain by pointing out areas of weakness, poor mobility, or instability. Regular wellness screens can keep you performing at an optimal level and equip you with the tools you need to correct your deficits before they sideline you from the activities you enjoy.

Dry Needling & Cupping

Dry Needling and Cupping are two very helpful ways to get the most out of your physical therapy experience. As part of a well-rounded PT program, dry needling and/or cupping can further the benefits of standard manual techniques to loosen restricted tissues and promote healing. Ask your physical therapist if dry needling and/or cupping are appropriate for your condition.

McKenzie Method

A sought-out approach to neck and back pain, The McKenzie Method® of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT) is an internationally researched and acclaimed system of assessment and management for spinal and extremity musculoskeletal disorders.

Clinicians trained in the MDT system are able to assess and classify all complaints of the musculoskeletal system. That means that if a problem is coming from the spine, extremity joints, muscles or tendons, then a MDT evaluation is appropriate. An MDT clinician will be able to identify if MDT is indicated, what management strategy is best, and outline a predicted recovery pathway.

MDT is a comprehensive assessment and management approach based on sound and logical principles that focuses on the patient and their potential to self-manage and recover their previous level of function.

Education about your condition

Physical therapy not only aims to correct your current problem, but helps to give you a better understanding as to what caused the issue in the first place. By understanding the anatomy, biomechanics, and other factors behind common injuries, we help equip you with the tools to prevent future injuries as well.

Direct Access

Did you know the state of Tennessee allows for direct access to physical therapy care? This means (with few exceptions) you do not need a physician’s order to begin physical therapy. While we welcome working with your established medical provider on injuries for which you have previously sought care, we also can be your first call for musculoskeletal injuries. If your condition is not appropriate for physical therapy, we will always refer you on to the appropriate medical provider.
